When An Organization Takes a Stand

When controversial legislation passed in Tennessee, Rich Yep, CEO of the American Counseling Association, had to lead his association in a huge move to relocate their annual conference.

I had the chance to talk with Rich and discuss this issue on Association Chat. We talked about the timeline for the PR crisis, issues with handling contracts and vendors, and Rich's suggestions for how association executives might best prepare themselves and their organizations for similar problems.

These are big issues that more and more organizations are facing all the time. What happens when you are the CEO of an organization and you must make a controversial move that will land your association's name in all the papers? Rich knows.
